If you’re like me then I’m sure you love John Travolta. I’ve seen all of his shows and now going to share with you.

Back in 1975 to 1979, you could stumble on one of America’s most favorite stars on a TV show called “Welcome Back, Kotter” playing a “sweathog”. The role of Vinnie Barbarino was the one that launched him into prominence. Since that time he has acted in a number of films and has shown himself to be one of the most excellent actors of our time.

In one of his original motion picture roles, John Travolta played a young disco dancer named Tony Manero in Saturday Night Fever. This was in 1977, the peak of the disco era. In the story, Tony meets another dancer named Stephanie and they rehearse together to enter in a dance competition.

Travolta was nominated for an academy award for Best Actor in a leading role, but he did not take home the award, but lost out to Richard Dreyfuss in “The Goodbye Girl”.

Not long after that, John Travolta starred in a very popular movie that can still be seen on cable reruns. He teamed up with Debra Winger in one of the biggest films of the time, “Urban Cowboy”. He plays the part of Buford “Bud” Uan Davis, who is small-town cowboy who goes to the big city of Houston. While in Houston, he hangs out at Gilley’s, a popular bar that is owned by the country singer, Mickey Gilley.

He meets a young cowgirl, “Sissy” played by Debra Winger and the story follows his love affair with Sissy and how he tries to win a contest for riding a mechanical bull. Mechanical bulls were quite prevalent for some time after that motion picture. This film can often still be seen on cable even now. John Travolta then had a few box office disasters and it was in fact many years before he had an additional hit and became famous again.

In 1994, he again had a starring role in a popular film as Vincent Vega, a mob hitman, in “Pulp Fiction”. Directed by Quentin Tarantino, it also starred Samuel L. Jackson and Ving Rhames and Uma Thurman. This movie achieved both critical acclaim and box office success.

John Travolta was yet again nominated for an Oscar for Best Actor in a leading role for Pulp Fiction, however again he lost out, this time to Tom Hanks for “Forrest Gump”.

Several other movies have also starred John Travolta including the sentimental favorites, “Michael” and “Phenomenon” both from 1996. You can download any Travolta film or any other movie that you wish to view tonight right now with just a touch of a button.

I hope you enjoy his shows as much as I do.

A portable video game console also referred to as a PSP center, can do so much more than just allow for playing games. You can in fact check e-mail; listen to music, see photographs, watch videos and movies which can all be downloaded to the console by the use of a computer. A PSP center has various great features for very affordable prices. It is very easy to download music for your trouble-free listening to your PSP center, and many times can be completed for free.

Before downloading tunes from your computer to your PSP you must first connect the USB cable from the PSP to the PC. Once attached, press the home button on the PSP device. Depending on the windows versions on your PC the process could vary somewhat but in most cases the PC will distinguish a new USB device is connected and will consequentially start installing the connection.

To get the USB connection, make use of the up and down arrows on the console, then depress the X to select the connection. Then a new drive will be produced for the gaming console and will be titled a letter such as E or F and will probably not be C or D. Now you are set to download your tunes.

Only MP3 files can be played on the PSP center. Music can be uploaded from a D, downloaded from the computer or the Internet. If the file you wish to download is not in MP3 format there are image converters accessible to adapt a file to the appropriate format. There is music available all over the Internet for a negligible charge. Various websites provide unlimited downloads for a monthly charge with no commitment.

Find the drive that was created for the PSP device. Open the drive and right click and pick “create a new folder”. Call the folder music or whatever you would prefer. This is where the music can be saved.

When wanting to save music that is already saved on the computer to the PSP device. Navigate to the music file on your computer where the files are saved and duplicate the files. Then navigate to the PSP drive and paste the files into the folder you developed on the new drive. Remember only MP3 files can be saved to the game console.

Downloading music from the Net is pretty easy and readily ready. To me, the best method is to download the music from the Internet initially to the computer and then copy and paste from the computer to the newly produced drive for the PSP device. This will permit for backups in case something happens in the transmission of the files to the PSP device. When wanting to download music from the Internet, most of the music services are simple to maneuver around and have useful tips. They also frequently have wizards or tools that help to walk you through the downloading process once you have chosen the music you would want to use. You will need to tell the music software where to save the files. Once the files are saved, if saved on the computer, navigate to the folder and decide on the file you would like to also have on your PSP device. Copy those files and paste them in the recently created drive folder for the PSP music. When transferring music from a disk, a ripper software is necessary.

Watch This Video…

When you are finished downloading files to the PSP device, prior to unplugging the device from the computer, depress the o button on the device. Then detach the PC from the PSP device, and the PSP can be unplugged from the computer. The PSP device is ready to play new music.

The world is changing and not only can we play games on our PSP devices but we can also listen to our music. The downloading process is very simple and can allow for many hours of entertainment.

There are many people who would like to learn to play the violin but are afraid to do so. This is because they are afraid to even start because they believe think that it will be too complex to learn. Nothing could be further from the truth however. While the mastery of the violin requires practice, the right techniques will help facilitate that matter.
A well prepared series of lessons will provide all the information and techniques that you need to be an accomplished violinist.

With the advent of Video and Audio technology, violin trainers now have the means to display the exact technique required to perform the music perfectly. The only limit is the ability of the teacher . The same situation is true for the Audio component of the training program. This is a revolutionary advance in the training arena.

This makes beginning learning to play the violin a much easier task than it is perceived to be. Most violin lesson programs are divided up in a number of individual components. These are typically made available in DVD or program downloads. The student then takes the lessons in the sequence in which they are presented. Of course, an appropriate level of practice is required.

A well developed set of lessons presents the material in a number of different styles and teaches each student how to play that style. These variations styles should include classical style, jazz, country and bluegrass. The lessons also present the scales and other techniques which are needed for proper levels of performance. Omitting any of the above will diminish the value of the lesson series. The combination of consistent practice and comparisons with the source material is the best way to learn the needed techniques.

Our recommended lesson set is performed by Eric Lewis and is called Violin Master Pro. Mr. Eric Lewis, in addition to producing the Violin Master Pro series of lessons is a member of the Manhattan String Quart and has made over a thousand violin recordings. This allows you to select the piece of music which you want, purchase it and compare it with your own performance.
The last consideration should be the acquisition price of the series of lessons. You want to receive quality instruction at a low price.

Such a series is Violin Master Pro, which has an acquisition buyer price of less than $30.00. The Series was developed by a master violinist who is featured in a string quartet. The series is 11 lessons long. It features training scales and techniques. It also teaches you all of the different styles. The series is available for less than $30.00 for all eleven lessons. http://myviolinlessons.com

In the U.S., it reached number four on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart and number one on the Radio & Records singles charts, while in the UK, it peaked at number ten. On February 20, 2006, the single, as well as the video, was re-released as part of the Visionary: The Video Singles package. The 14-minute video is regarded by MTV as the greatest music video of all-time, and the song itself is considered to be one of Jackson’s signature songs. The single was released slightly earlier in the United Kingdom, in November 1983.

Lyrics To Thriller :

It’s Close To Midnight And Something Evil’s Lurking In The Dark
Under The Moonlight You See A Sight That Almost Stops Your Heart
You Try To Scream But Terror Takes The Sound Before You Make It
You Start To Freeze As Horror Looks You Right Between The Eyes,
You’re Paralyzed

Cause This Is Thriller, Thriller Night
And No One’s Gonna Save You From The Beast About Strike
You Know It’s Thriller, Thriller Night
You’re Fighting For Your Life Inside A Killer, Thriller Tonight

You Hear The Door Slam And Realize There’s Nowhere Left To Run
You Feel The Cold Hand And Wonder If You’ll Ever See The Sun
You Close Your Eyes And Hope That This Is Just Imagination
But All The While You Hear The Creature Creepin’ Up Behind
You’re Out Of Time

Cause This Is Thriller, Thriller Night
There Ain’t No Second Chance Against The Thing With
Forty Eyes
You Know It’s Thriller, Thriller Night
You’re Fighting For Your Life Inside Of Killer, Thriller Tonight

Night Creatures Call
And The Dead Start To Walk In Their Masquerade
There’s No Escapin’ The Jaws Of The Alien This Time
(They’re Open Wide)
This Is The End Of Your Life

They’re Out To Get You, There’s Demons Closing In On Every Side
They Will Possess You Unless You Change The Number On Your Dial
Now Is The Time For You And I To Cuddle Close Together
All Thru The Night I’ll Save You From The Terror On The Screen,
I’ll Make You See

That This Is Thriller, Thriller Night
‘Cause I Can Thrill You More Than Any Ghost Would Dare To Try
Girl, This Is Thriller, Thriller Night
So Let Me Hold You Tight And Share A Killer, Diller, Chiller
Thriller Here Tonight

RAP

Darkness Falls Across The Land
The Midnite Hour Is Close At Hand
Creatures Crawl In Search Of Blood
To Terrorize Y’awl’s Neighbourhood
And Whosoever Shall Be Found
Without The Soul For Getting Down
Must Stand And Face The Hounds Of Hell
And Rot Inside A Corpse’s Shell
The Foulest Stench Is In The Air
The Funk Of Forty Thousand Years
And Grizzy Ghouls From Every Tomb
Are Closing In To Seal Your Doom
And Though You Fight To Stay Alive
Your Body Starts To Shiver
For No Mere Mortal Can Resist
The Evil Of The Thriller

Lots of people download music using file sharing software. Especially young people, those who grew up with Internet, find it totally normal to download music. Most of them are very adept at finding their kind of music and downloading it straight to their PC.

Online piracy has cut into national music sales by nearly a third since 1999, sending record and film revenues into a downward spiral, which hits everyone in the industry hard, from the record store clerks, songwriters, and technicians, to the artists themselves. Sometimes referred to as P2P, file sharing applications like the original Napster are a virtual treasure trove of music, movies, and software. If you use P2P software to download music, movies, or software, you may also be sharing those files to others.

Increasingly frustrated by the rise of illegal downloading, the music and film industries have been making examples of individual file-swappers. During the past year, the music and film industries have been bombarding colleges and universities with notices of illegal downloads of music and movie files by students. Recently, the music industry filed suit against four college students across the country, seeking billions of dollars in damages.

Despite all these lawsuits targeting campus pirates, more than half of all college students still download music and movies illegally, according to the University of Richmond’s Intellectual Property Institute. The music industry is fighting a losing battle to stop this downloading; they should realize that it is impossible to stop the downloading of music, it will only grow. Trying to stop it is a dead end street, it is much better to use the Internet.

Many musicians, artists, and software developers are changing the way they do business and are providing their works on the Internet for free. Maybe this is the way it should be. Musicians could make their money with performing, they could use the Internet to promote their music, and so they can charge more for their concerts. In the future they could even use the Internet to broadcast their live shows and in this way make more from a single concert. Then they still have a lot of other money making opportunities, for example commercials. A lot of musicians make a lot of money this way.

What ever the future brings, no one knows, but it is pretty sure that music downloads from the Internet is here to stay, and the musician of today will be better of if they understand this and use it to their advantage. Not only the musician should be aware of the fact that online music downloading is here to stay. The music business as a whole has to understand this, and they should respond to this fact in an proper way

This week marks 40 years since the most famous rock concert in history. Over half a million people showed up in August 1969 at Woodstock, New York for what was billed as an Aquarian Exposition: 3 Days of Peace & Music”, eekend of Peace, Love and Music.

It wasn’t the first major music festival, it wasn’t the biggest, but for some reason Woodstock became the legend, the one we always remember. Apparently it wasn’t all good, the weather didn’t cooperate and it rained and rained. The food ran out and the outhouses were scarce. More people showed than were expected and there wasn’t enough food or enough outhouses.

It actually became a “free” concert after it was determined that more people were showing up than they had ever expected. Only about 186,000 tickets were actually sold, at a price of $18.00 before the show and $25.00 at the festival. As it turned out, over 500,000 people showed up.

32 acts performed over the weekend with the last performance, a beautiful and touching guitar rendition by Jimi Hendrix, taking place early on Monday morning.

It has been billed as the “Summer of Love” and the young people who attended as “The Woodstock Generation” and while it seemed to be a great time of “sex, drugs and rock and roll”, it also ushered in another time. Within just over a year, two of the most famous and beloved performers at Woodstock, Janis Joplin and Jimi Hendrix were both dead, Janis from a Heroin overdose, and Jimi from asphyxiating on his own vomit of red wine. Theories of both suicide and murder abound over the death of Jimi Hendrix.

In August 2009, a six-CD set, featuring nearly 8 hours of the music of Woodstock is being released. It features 77 tracks, all of which run chronologically in the same order as they were played at Woodstock. “Woodstock: 40 Years On: Back to Yasgur’s Farm” is available now.

Surfing the Internet, looking for music and movie download resources, you will find a lot of so called music and movie download sites. These sites do not provide you with music, or movies to download, no, they provide you with file sharing soft ware you can use to search for, and download music, movies and games. Most of them also provide you with cd burning soft ware and they have a help desk for those members who run in to problems with their downloading.

These sites are under attack.

First of all there is the entertainment industry that wants to shut them down. They claim that these file sharing programs are used to download copy right protected materials.

This is true of course, but lots of people download and trade files legally on file-sharing networks. You can, for example, legally download music from hundreds of bands and thousands live concerts, as well as multiple software titles and games. File sharing has enabled music fans from around the world to build the largest library of recorded music in history. File sharing is not illegal as long as you obey and comply with all relevant copyright laws. Sharing copyrighted material without permission could be illegal in your country.

In America the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) are leading the fight against the sharing of copyrighted music. Others, like Hollywood’s MPAA (Motion Picture Association of America) are also starting to get involved and are taking legal action against the music and movie download sites.

It will not be easy to shut down these download sites. Especially since the Internet has no borders, it will be an almost impossible task, to get all the countries in the world to agree on how to legislate Internet downloading.

Another attack on music and movies download sites comes from, what I call, seasoned Internet users. They claim these download sites are a scam, because they charge for something you can get for free.

Well, you could get it for free, that is true. These download sites provide you with soft ware to search for and download files from the Internet. They provide you with soft ware to burn these files on a cd should you wish to do so.

All this software is available for free on the Internet, but for an Internet novice it could be a daunting task to look for this kind of soft ware, to decide which soft ware to use, how to use it. On top of that they have to make sure that they do not download spy ware, ad ware or what ever. Joining a download site and have all the info in one place is not a bad option for most of them. Another advantage is the fact that these download sites provide a help desk for their members.

Is it a scam if you provide info that people could get for free elsewhere?

Consider this.

You are looking for a telephone number, so you look it up in the phone book.
Say you do not have the right phone book, you can go out looking for it.
You probably can find this free info in the library.

You can also pick up the phone and ring an information service.

They will provide you with this free info and they will charge you for it.

So, is this information service a scam?

I do not think so, and I also do not think that the music and movies download sites are a scam.

Provided of course that they tell you what you can expect from them before you sign up with them, and that they deliver on this promise

If you want to join a download site, chose one that gives a guaranty that you can have your money back if not satisfied.

Once you have joined, test out everything, especially their help desk.

If you have no questions, ask them a few things you know already, just to test their response.

And last but not least, do not hesitate to charge back your money if you are not completely satisfied.

During the Medieval music era (500-1400), the only European repertory which has survived from before about 800 is the monophonic liturgical plainsong of the Roman Catholic Church, the central tradition of which was called Gregorian chant. Alongside these traditions of sacred and church music there existed a vibrant tradition of secular song. Examples of composers from this period are Léonin, Pérotin and Guillaume de Machaut. From the Renaissance music era (1400-1600), much of the surviving music of 14th century Europe is secular. By the middle of the 15th century, composers and singers used a smooth polyphony for sacred musical compositions. The introduction of commercial printing helped to disseminate musical styles more quickly and across a larger area. Prominent composers from this era are Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina, Thomas Morley and Orlande de Lassus.

Allegory of Music, by Filippino Lippi
The era of Baroque music (1600-1750) began when the first operas were written and when contrapuntal music became prevalent. German Baroque composers wrote for small ensembles including strings, brass, and woodwinds, as well as choirs, pipe organ, harpsichord, and clavichord. During the Baroque period, several major music forms were defined that lasted into later periods when they were expanded and evolved further, including the fugue, the invention, the sonata, and the concerto.[10] Composers from the Baroque era include Johann Sebastian Bach, George Frideric Handel and Georg Philipp Telemann.

The music of the Classical period (1750-1800) is characterized by homophonic texture, often featuring a prominent melody with accompaniment. These new melodies tended to be almost voice-like and singable. The now popular instrumental music was dominated by further evolution of musical forms initially defined in the Baroque period: the sonata, and the concerto, with the addition of the new form, the symphony. Joseph Haydn and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart are among the central figures of the Classical period.

In 1800, the Romantic era (1800-1890s) in music developed, with Ludwig van Beethoven and Franz Schubert as transitional composers who introduced a more dramatic, expressive style. During this era, existing genres, forms, and functions of music were developed, and the emotional and expressive qualities of music came to take precedence over technique and tradition. In Beethoven’s case, motifs (developed organically) came to replace melody as the most significant compositional unit. The late 19th century saw a dramatic expansion in the size of the orchestra, and in the role of concerts as part of urban society. Later Romantic composers such as Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky and Gustav Mahler created complex and often much longer musical works. They used more complex chords and used more dissonance to create dramatic tension. With 20th century music, there was a vast increase in music listening as the radio gained popularity and phonographs were used to replay and distribute music. The focus of art music was characterized by exploration of new rhythms, styles, and sounds. Igor Stravinsky, Arnold Schoenberg, and John Cage were all influential composers in 20th century art music.

Jazz evolved and became a significant genre of music over the course of the 20th century, and during the second half of that century, rock music did the same. Jazz is an American musical art form which originated in the beginning of the 20th century in African American communities in the Southern United States from a confluence of African and European music traditions. The style’s West African pedigree is evident in its use of blue notes, improvisation, polyrhythms, syncopation, and the swung note.[11] From its early development until the present, jazz has also incorporated music from 19th and 20th century American popular music.[12]

Jazz has, from its early 20th century inception, spawned a variety of subgenres, ranging from New Orleans Dixieland (1910s) to 1970s and 1980s-era jazz-rock fusion.
Rock music is a genre of popular music that developed in the 1960s from 1950s rock and roll, rockabilly, blues, and country music. The sound of rock often revolves around the electric guitar or acoustic guitar, and it uses a strong back beat laid down by a rhythm section of electric bass guitar, drums, and keyboard instruments such as organ, piano, or, since the 1970s, digital synthesizers. Along with the guitar or keyboards, saxophone and blues-style harmonica are used as soloing instruments. In its “purest form”, it “has three chords, a strong, insistent back beat, and a catchy melody.”[13] In the late 1960s and early 1970s, rock music branched out into different subgenres, ranging from blues rock and jazz-rock fusion to heavy metal and punk rock, as well as the more classical influenced genre of progressive rock.

Starting a little one on a musical instrument early in life is very popular, and while many parents aren’t brave enough to buy a child drum set, drumming can be a great activity for young kids. Learning the basic fundamentals of drumming will not only teach your child a talent for life, but instill important rhythm skills that are translatable to any other musical instrument and many other activities such as sports as well. Plus, there are many more child junior drum kits on the market today than ever before, and the quality has gone up as prices have gone down. However if you are a parent looking for a child drum kit, you should carefully consider buying a used junior drum kit.

Most major manufacturers of drum sets will now offer smaller, less extensive versions of their kits design for beginners. You will find mini drum kits for children as young as 3, but also junior drum kits appropriate for kids into their teens. The quality is also good enough to last for years, even if you child puts a lot of wear into the set (the drum heads are replaceable anyway). The junior drum sets referred to are not ‘toys’, but real instruments and drums sets that make excellent sound, good enough to accompany a band if your young one is lucky enough to find some guitar and bass playing partners.

When searching for a kids drum set to buy, parents have many options. Traditionally musical instruments were bought from small, locally owned music stores that while helpful to consumers, had limited selections. In recent years, larger music store chains such as Guitar Center and Musician’s Friend appeared which are still focused on music but offer a wider selection and often lower prices. Many parents today will also end up buying their child’s first drum set at a mass merchandiser like Wal-Mart, Target, or Sears, or a consumer store like Best Buy. However there is another option many choose that often is the most favorable of all.

Used child drum sets can make a lot of sense for parents for many practical reasons. First of all, there are plenty of them on the market. Since kid drummers who end up enjoying drumming always eventually grow out of their first drum set, they go on to buy full sized drum sets. This means their old starter drum kit(which normally is in good condition) is available for sale, and at a great price. Parents can find these used drum sets for kids being ‘handed’ down in numbers, especially on sites like eBay, where 100s of musical instruments are auctioned almost everyday.

Another smart reason for buying your child a used drum set is hedging your bet on your little one’s future in drumming. How is your jr drummer going to like drums going forward? There is always the chance that your child will play on his drums for a few days, get bored, and be done with them forever. While this may not happen with your child, it does happen, and if you buy a used drum set, you’ve made a smaller investment in a product that didn’t last very long. Your options are to pass it on to the next child, or sell it right back on eBay and recoup whatever investment you already made.

Buying a used child drum set can be smart approach for parents considering their child’s first drum kit. Many drummers began on a used set, and there’s no shame in it. In fact, often drummers have a hard time parting with first set, even it was used and even if a new set is ready for them. If you are a parent looking for a junior drum kit, definitely consider purchasing used.

What would you think about someone who wanted to become an awesome finger-picker but most of their practice was focused on using a pick? You’d think they were crazy right? And rightly so! But believe me it’s more common than you think. Heck…even I’ve been guilty of this more than a few times! I think we all sometimes fall into the trap of practicing things without thinking exactly WHY we are practicing them.

So what’s the cure for this? I can give you the cure in three words…

Big Picture Thinking

What’s this? Put simply it means looking at the WHYs and WHATs before looking at the HOWs. It’s looking at the overall picture before becoming focused on the details. Let’s take a look at an example to make it clearer…

Let’s say that you would like to learn to shred. Rather than just jumping in and practicing some random exercises, let’s go through the big picture thinking process.

**Step One** Why

In this step you write down exactly WHY you want to become a shredder. Think of all the reasons and write them down. This is really important. Your reasons why help keep you motivated and enthusiatic about working towards your goal. In fact, I can almost guarantee that without a strong, exciting and compelling why you will give up before you reach your goal!

**Step Two** Big Picture What

Write down WHAT you want to achieve. In this case you would write down a detailed description of EXACTLY how you would like to play. What type of shredder do you want to become?

**Step Three** Detailed What

In this step you’ll write down the specific things that you will need to master in order to achieve what you wrote down in Step Two. Here are some example questions that you would ask yourself…

* What scales would I need to learn?

* What songs would I like to learn?

* What techniques would I have to master?

* What guitar tutors who live near to me teach shredding?

* What licks and exercises would help me achieve my goal?

* What instructional books, videos or DVDS will I need to buy?

The aim with this step is to get a detailed list of SPECIFIC things that you need to master in order to reach your goal.

**Step Four** How

This is where you write down a detailed practice schedule. This schedule will help you systematically learn what you wrote down in the previous step. If you’re not sure how to put together an effective practice schedule then you may want to hire a good guitar tutor.

Can you see how this works? Rather than just jumping in and practicing, you start with the big picture first then work your way down to the small details.I guarantee that doing it this way will speed up your progress drastically. The main reason why is you will only be practicing things 100% related to your guitar goals.
